README.TXT Changes in Switchers Made Simple 4.3 (3/10/98), Compared to v4.2.1 (4/17/96) ============================================================================ 1. New product LM2595J (military temperature range) has been added. This allows for buck regulator designs of up to 1 Amp output current to have a junction temperature range as wide as -55degC to +150degC. Maximum ambient temperature is 125degC. 2. Bug fix: Buck regulators can now be designed with ambient temperatures as low as -40degC for the "industrial" parts and -55degC for the "military" part. In previous releases, the minimum ambient temperature was between -10 and -15degC. 3. For the military temperature range buck regulator solutions, standard components will not be selected. This will tend to produce warnings about low phase margin, as the calculations are using the minimum output capacitor ESR. Adjusting the ESR to a higher value, as is common in actual designs, will improve the phase margin. See the help file for further information on military inductors, capacitors, and diodes, and on the phase margin warnings. 4. Updated MAN.CMP (the list of component manufacturers and their contact information) to include information about military-qualified components. WG03/13/98
